DAVIES PLAYERS

The Davies Players began as the Davies Performing Arts Group in the early 1990’s. The Players performed at Sunday services, fellowship dinners, and special events. Over the years, approximately 70 church members and friends participated in DP productions.

Nancy Frumen, our founder, was involved in the theatre nearly non-stop since her high school days, as an actress, singer, dancer and choreographer, writer, and director. Her passion and dedication opened the door to a new experience for some of us, rekindled an old interest for others and offered new avenues of creative expression for all of us.

Not to be forgotten, like most of his plays, is our past wordsmith, Den Frumen. Den’s fertile mind was the source of many unique characters, jumbled times and places, twisted plots, and a quick wit, often blended with his take on theology.

Many of the Players are still here, though Den and Nancy retired and moved to Staunton where they continue to be creative. We're hoping someone will step forward and start another theatre group. The goal is fun, learning from experience, great relationships, creating an enjoyable experience for others, and often raising money for charity, without monetary reward for ourselves.
