| The Unitarian Universalist Tapestry of Faith |
Is a series of programs and resources which nurtures
- Unitarian Universalist Identity,
- Spiritual Growth,
- Ethical Development,
- Transforming Faith,
- Communities focused on Justice and Love.
Through Tapestry of Faith, we offer our children programs that hold them in love, ignite their passion for justice, and satisfy their need to know more deeply the diversity and wholeness of our Unitarian Universalist faith. |
Classes
begin Sunday, September 18, 2011 and meet most Sundays.
Children 3-years and older attend the first part of the Worship Service,
most Sundays, and go as a group to Religious Education classes.
Occasionally, children and youth will attend all-ages family worship
services or engage in fun (usually holiday-related) large group
activities instead of meeting with their classes.
There is no fee for children to participate. Families of participants
are expected to contribute financially to the church and to be open to volunteering in
RE. |
OUR MISSION
The purpose of the Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church Religious Education Program is to provide a religious and moral environment
that encourages development of personal beliefs and values, acceptance of self and others, and a sense of belonging to the church community. The Religious Education Committee has developed the following goals for the children participating in the program: |
- develop respect for one's self, others and divergent ideas
- become responsible for one's self
- identify themselves as members of the Unitarian Universalist religion
- become aware of other religions
- recognize they have the support of a caring church community and that they are a force for justice and love in this community and the larger world community.
We are also concerned with safety by having volunteers working in pairs, providing
training, and having windows in each classroom to the hall which is
monitored.
