BIOGRAPHY
& SERMONS
The Rev. Dr. Bruce Marshall joined us as our interim minister in September 2009. He will be leaving us at the end of August 2012 as our new minister comes in. He has served us well and we will miss him, though new things will be coming for all.Rev. Bruce Marshall and wife Amy

The Rev. Dr. Marshall has 25+ years of experience as a minister, having served Unitarian Universalist congregations in Flint, MI; Huntington, NY; and Shaker Heights, OH. He is a third generation Unitarian Universalist and has published four books, including three on religious liberalism. He holds degrees from Earlham College, Meadville/Lombard Theological School, and Chicago Theological Seminary. He has pursued additional studies at Manchester College, the Unitarian College at Oxford University, and he holds a certificate in spiritual direction from the Shalem Institute in Bethesda. He has a particular interest in spiritual direction, that is, the process of attending to and deepening one's personal spiritual journey.

Rev. Marshall was called by the Unitarian Universalist Association to provide pastoral care to the congregation and support to the staff of the two congregations involved in the shootings last July at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville.

Rev. Marshall is married to Amy, pictured above, with four grown children. Contact Rev. Marshall at bmarshall[at]dmuuc.org.
