If this comes to pass, it will be deeply disconcerting to this nation, built as we are on an assumption of progress. Sun Jan 15 noon - Immigration Discussion - In our first meeting (December 4th) on the Immigration issue here at DMUUC, we discussed the UUA common read book by Margaret Regan, The Death of Josseline: Immigration Stories from the Arizona Borderlands. Mike Papantones, who led the discussion, reported that "the group discussed the migrant's experience from multiple perspectives. Out of the complexity of this issue came the realization that Americans have glamorized their past and have treated their future negatively when it comes to immigration. Our focus is to provide some realism so that it can assist us in implementing our liberal religious values." - POC Mike Papantones 301-449-3053 or Liz Echols eechols56 at gmail

His theology begins with this definition of religion, "Religion is our human response to the dual reality of being alive and having to die." Dan Cryer, a friend of mine from New York days, has recently written a biography of Forrest Church, covering both his personal life and the development of his theology. Drawing upon Dan's book, I would like to reflect on Forrest's legacy to us.
