Wednesday March 17: 7:30 - 9 pm - How Can I Help? Responding to People in Need adult education class. Child care is provided free. Each of us sometimes encounters a person in need. We might wonder: how can I be of service? What can I do that might ease the hurt? How can I help? In this one-session seminar, I would like to offer a few guidelines for responding effectively to those in need. I'll share some stories of times when people have been of help to others-and when people have been of help to me. There will also be opportunities for participants to share their own experiences. What most of us want most deeply from others isn't very much and it doesn't take specialized training. We'll talk about what it does take. No reservations necessary: just come! POC Rev. Bruce Marshall 301-920-1030

Wednesday March 24: 7:30 - 9 PM - What Moves Us: Unitarian Universalist Theology is a new adult education program created by Rev. Dr. Thandeka, a faculty member at Meadville/Lombard Theological School in Chicago and an African American woman. In this series she offers a way of approaching theological questions from stories and personal experience. Each session begins with an experience or faith story that emotionally moved one of our spiritual forebears. Then participants are encouraged to consider how this might relate to their own story. This is a ten-session series offered once a month, extending through November 2010. Each session is stand-alone, that is, you don’t have to attend all of them. But the more you participate, the wider the range of options you will be able to explore. POC Rev. Bruce Marshall 301-920-1030 ballroom dancing
